Bluelight Analytics

Bluelight Analytics was founded in Nova Scotia in 2009. Since then, they have been at the forefront of light measurement technology working to improve outcomes for dentists and dental service organizations around the world.

Thousands of dental clinics use Bluelight software and hardware to test and calibrate their curing lights. Curing lights are used to set composite (tooth-coloured fillings), in patients and most dentist offices today use some form of LED curing light.

Bluelight technology tests curing lights to ensure they are working properly which reduces the risk associated with poorly cured composites. Their device measures the light exactly as it's performing to ensure success with many kinds of procedures such as crowns, endodontics

and orthodontics. Bluelight’s platform provides accountability through real-time monitoring of each clinic’s performance.

Any light source overtime can degrade and cause the composite to not bond to the tooth. Bluelight provides assurance that curing lights are always working as they should providing peace of mind to dentists and patients.

Chris Felix, Chief Scientist says, “Even though we're ten years in we still think of ourselves as a startup company and it's a great way to build jobs, really good quality jobs here in Nova Scotia.”

As part of the Forge Ahead campaign spearheaded by the Atlantic Chamber of Commerce, we have been visiting manufacturing companies in the Atlantic Provinces, speaking to their teams, and documenting their success stories. The Bluelight Analytics story and others can be found here
